River-Notes-House-ConcertWhy We Do It?

We have a great affinity for live music. So we open up our home to our friends and neighbors because we want to share great music with them. Hosting house concerts is our way of giving back to the community that has brought us great happiness over the years.

In addition, we strive to support Tidewater Arts Outreach (TAO). TAO is a nonprofit organization to bring music and arts to hospitals, retirement homes, rehabilitation centers, homeless shelters, and other facilities throughout Hampton Roads.

The TAO performances and programs promote human interaction, happiness, and healing for people who have limited access to the arts because of health, economic or social circumstances.

The performances the artists give are priceless. TAO and River Notes House concerts work together to raise money for TAO programs.

River Notes House Concerts also lends to the exposure to some incredible musicians whose talents we truly believe in. Our house concerts help support their artistry.

What is a House Concert?

A house concert is a performance by musician or group in a private home. House concerts are a symbiotic experience for both artists and audience. Up and coming artists can perform for an appreciative audience. Audiences can hear new music in a relaxed and intimate setting. Donations are requested to give to the performers. Artists usually have CD's and other merchandise for sale as well. Buying directly from the artist means a greater percentage will go to them.
